This painting imagines the ultimate golf game crashers: a full lineup of Alberta’s critters, all showing up on the same green—at the same time!

It’s Hole 19, where most golfers are already ready for a drink, but running into this crew? You’d definitely need two.

Each animal is suited up to represent Edmonton pride:

The Moose wears #11 in honour of Mark “Moose” Messier, cheering for the Edmonton Oilers.

The Bear is geared up in the Edmonton Elks (formerly known as Edmonton Eskimos) colours, football in paw.

The Goose dons Riverhawks baseball spirit, wing spread wide.

And the rest of Alberta’s usual suspects, lynx, ducks, beaver, squirrel, raccoon, cat, dog, and groundhog make their own mischief around the flag.

Created for the Annual Kevin Karius Celebrity Golf Classic, in support of Easter Seals, this piece celebrates both Edmonton’s sports culture and the wildlife many golfers have experienced on the greens.

Shauna Madsen is a multidisciplinary artist from Edmonton who blends humour, heart, and storytelling into every piece she creates. Known for her lively pet portraits, moss art, and satirical wildlife paintings, Shauna believes art should spark both joy and reflection.
